- To respond to this problem, some countries are creating more reserves and national parks to protect our forests and preserve the natural habitats of endangered animals and plants. Around the world, we are also planting five tennis courts' worth of trees per second. This is a good start, but not enough. We need to replace all of the trees we cut down. That way, our forests can continue to absorb carbon dioxide and slow global warming. In our school we are going on a tree-planting trip next week. This is something we can do together to help our environment.
